Surrounded by Sales Surprises!

For a "non-salesperson"; sales is a dirty word that never should appear on anyone's resume. The reality, however, is that all of us rely on professional sales people (NOT THIS GUY!) every day of our lives...let me explain!

Television: "Sells us" on what to wear, what to say, what to eat; where to shop and spend or save our money. "Free Television" relies on advertising for revenue but the real impact is more subtle. Look at American Idol. The contestants "sell" the audience on their choice in music (many songwriters and bands have made millions when the "Chosen One" wins with their particular song). We let the TV tell us what is pretty; and what is ugly. We even permit it to "sell us" on who to love and who to hate! Most people that don't like salespeople would never even think of kicking this one out of their home!

Radio: "Sells us" on what road to take to work, what music is "in" and which is "out". Each and every song is a "sales job" that tries to define what is and isn't "real". IF you don't like sales you better not listen to music that has words!

Newspapers and magazines:

Everytime you tune in to one of the above you are "Being sold" something!

What About Politicians? Or, "Analysts" or Editors of Newspapers? Isn't you're doctor forced to "sell you" on a procedure or medication? What do lawyers do in court? Don't they "Pitch" a judge or a jury to convict or acquit? Yes, even your accountant has to "sell you" on accepting his expert opinion!

OH MY GOSH!!!! They're Everywhere!
